What is Q in Fantasy Football?

There are several different designations for players who are injured during the week. Q stands for questionable. It means the team isn’t sure if the player will play or not. Unfortunately, there isn’t an exact science as to if they will play or a percent chance. It’s basically just as likely they will play as they won’t.

Fantasy platforms will assign injury or personal issue classes to players at the beginning of each week. If a player is listed as questionable, fantasy managers will have to track that player during the week in case they have to make adjustments to their starting lineup or have to pick up a player from the waiver wire.

Handling Players Listed as Questionable

When you play fantasy football, questionable is one of the hardest designations to deal with. For example, if a football player is probable it is easy to start them on your fantasy football team. If they are doubtful, it’s easy to bench the player for that week.

When it comes to questionable, it could easily go either way. The important thing is to know when the player will be playing that week. Are they playing during Thursday night football? Or will they be competing on Sunday? If they play later in the week, you can have a replacement player ready and wait as long as possible to make a decision.

When it comes to earning fantasy points on your roster from questionable players, you need to also consider the weekly situation. If a quarterback, wide receiver, tight end, or running back is listed as questionable later in the season but the team is fighting for the playoffs, they might decide to play.
