Humans were conquered with kindness in the latest episode of Rick and Morty, "JuRicksic Mort."
If you couldn't tell, season six, episode six's title is a play on the film Jurassic Park, with returning dinosaurs the common theme between the two. Lisa Kudrow, Jason Mraz and Keith David are listed as this week's special guest stars, voicing the dino-overlords.
By the episode's end, it seems Rick and Morty are back to their old ways, which may make the extended wait for the next episode excruciating for some fans.
What Happens in Season Six Episode Six of 'Rick and Morty'
With all of the excitement that season six has brought us so far, it's easy to forget that interdimensional travel has been off the table so far. We're reminded as Rick shows Morty his still-faulty portal gun. Rick claims to be teaching Morty a lesson by not fixing the device, but it's clear that Rick is struggling.
Another thing that may have been forgotten is that Morty is still a high-school student, even though we never see him attend classes. Well, his teacher and classmates react to this and enter panic stations as he walks in, anticipating some sort of catastrophe whenever he's around.
In that moment, a global alien invasion takes place, but the inhabitants of the huge spaceships seem friendly.
Hyper-intelligent, altruistic dinosaurs are onboard, returning to Earth after thousands of years away. They seem just as surprised by humans' presence as everyone is by their arrival: "Dinosaurs are back?" "Monkeys went bald?"
Represented by three main dinosaurs, the leaders give a speech at the U.N. and inform humanity that they'll take it from here, because they must be exhausted. Here, the writers make sure to get in a few more barbs at Marvel movies, a regular target for Rick and Morty.
It turns out the dinosaurs know what they're doing, and life becomes easy, too easy for humans from there on out. Via a montage, with an emotional soundtrack that just lists dinosaur names, we see that humanity is now well fed, with no need for jobs and money. It's driving everyone crazy, and Summer is particularly aggrieved as there are no more pedophiles on TikTok, so there's no one watching her dance videos.
The only one who seems to be thriving in the new dinosaur utopia is Jerry, who has always been accustomed to doing nothing. He now decides it's time for him to release the book he wrote: Never Trying Never Fails. Eventually, the book becomes a smash hit, thanks to the dinosaurs, but they remove Jerry's name, giving him no credit.

The president of the United States begs Rick to remove the dinosaurs, but Rick has one demand, to let him host the Oscars.
Rick and the dinosaurs talk, where their creatures' intelligence is put on display by the fact that they have perfected multiversal travel themselves. They hand Rick their Portal Pistol, which seems to be an upgrade on his gun.
Refusing their kindness, Rick decides he will find out what they're hiding, because only people who've really messed up in the past need to virtue-signal this hard, "look at Sean Penn."
Grandpa and grandson investigate the dinosaurs' previous worlds and find out that, everywhere they go, an angry, sentient space rock chases down the creatures and destroys whatever world they inhabit at that time.
Exposing the dinosaurs' secret that every planet they are on is doomed, they agree to leave Earth, after a media tour that sees them meet Anderson Cooper, Joe Rogan and Wendy Williams.
With the dinosaurs gone, Earth returns to its previously problematic self, while Rick actually does host the Oscars. Halfway through the gig, he's informed that the dinosaurs are going to commit suicide, ending the circle of planet-destroying. Not OK with this, Rick stands with them and forces them to take violent action and kill the rock hurtling towards them.
Back on Earth and with everything returning to normal, it's time for Rick and Morty to return to their normal adventures too, because Rick finally fixed his portal gun.
"It's gonna be classic episodes. Portalling in, wrecking s***, portalling out. Adventures, social commentary, group characters, here we go, Rick and Morty time," Rick rants while breaking the fourth wall.
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait over a month for all this, as new episodes of Rick and Morty will return on Sunday, November 20.
