PurposeThe purpose of this hearing is to inform the public that TxDOT is proposing to widen I-30 from Ferguson Road to Bass Pro Drive in Dallas County, Texas.
Description

The proposed project consists of approximately 12 miles of improvements to I-30 from Ferguson Road to Bass Pro Drive located within the cities of Dallas, Mesquite, and Garland, in Dallas County, Texas. The proposed project would have six to twelve main lanes (three to six travel lanes in each direction) varying throughout the project limits, zero to two reversible managed lanes, and two to three frontage road lanes in each direction. The proposed improvements include a 10-foot-wide shared use path along the frontage roads on both sides of I-30 throughout most of the project corridor for bicyclist and pedestrian use. The proposed improvements to I-30 would result in right-of-way (ROW) widths ranging between 300 to 450 feet.

Although additional right of way would be required, no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction can be obtained from the TxDOT district office by calling 214-320-6675 or on the project website.

The proposed project would require the acquisition of ROW from the following historic properties protected under Section 4(f) of the Department of Transportation Act of 1966:
